I have always found the "starve a fever" clears an infection fast. Also, your innards get a rest that I also think beneficial.

Perhaps also glucose metabolism increases t3 which causes more heat and faster heart rate

Yes, although the fever response seems to be separate from just eating glucose. The body is causing a fever through other mechanisms, in response to some pathogenic signal.

This sure explains how I never got the 'rona, despite attending dinners where every single other attendant was out for 2 weeks including lost sense of smell. Have never tested positive, ever, even on the antibody tests.

I'll say that you can fast/starve too much when ill, or even cause yourself to become ill. In the past, before avoiding LA, I tried fasting my morbid obesity away a few times like Fung advises. I never made it far despite having ~150lbs of fat on me, and one time I got very sick and it didn't get better after 3-4 days, so I broke the fast. I do think that, eventually (on a true fast, not keto diet), your immune system will stop functioning well.

Yes, many papers on infection risk increasing with malnutrition. Immune system is one of the first things to be throttled.
