Welcome, Paying Subscribers!
I recently turned on payments, and thought an explanation was in order.
First off, to all who pledged a subscription to this enterprise, my sincere thanks.
This has been a labor of love, or an obsession, for a good long time now, but that is becoming an untenable situation.
I’ve realized that evangelizing the research on the dangers of seed oils to our health is a necessary task. Someone needs to do it, and unfortunately that someone seems to be me.
While it’s not nearly as bad as this fellow points out:
See the podcast, and there are a number of others out there—it’s definitely something I spend more time on than anyone else.
So I am going to try to make this venture self-sustaining. We are also working on setting up a not-for-profit to make contributing to this effort more attractive, and to broaden this enterprise beyond me and my co-conspirators on the podcast.
So what are you going to get for your dollar here at this Substack?
I am in the process of moving my material over from my old blog. That is and has been free, and will remain free here.
Material that is moving over is tagged as “Transition” here and there, and is being removed from the blog as I add it here. I’m doing this in the order of popularity and relevance, as I have become aware that many of my best posts were so old that people were not aware of them. Refreshing that material and putting in in a better environment here in Substack will better enable me to promote it.
New short-form posts, like the quick study analyses will remain free. New longer-form posts will be subscriber-only. I’m not sure if that will be permanent or if it will be for some period of time, but I will figure that out with a goal of promoting the message.
I am working on a book. Shortly I will start posting the first draft of those chapters that here, and that will be subscriber-only permanently. I’d also like to make a PDF/Kindle copy of that material available for free to subscribers here, probably on a temporal basis—you have to be a subscriber for a period of time, for instance. I’m working that out as well, and please let me know what you think.
So that’s where this stands.
Again, thank you for your support and I hope I continue to educate and amuse you all.
With a limited budget I usually only subscribe to $5/month substacks, but yours is worth the little bit extra. Especially if there's a book in it someday.
if it saves just one life!!!
